Georgia Expects over 300 Guests to Visit Country as part of 33rd Vine and Wine World Congress

On June 2-25 Georgia will host one of the most large-scale and prestigious events in the winemaking world called as the 33rd World Congress of Vine and Wine (OIV).

An official opening ceremony will be held on June 21 at the Rustaveli Theater. The president, the executive director of the OIV and a representative of Portugal, the country to host the congress in 2011, will deliver speeches. Georgian Agriculture Minister Bakur Kvezereli and other Georgian officials will also attend the opening ceremony.

Over 300 guests are expected to arrive in Georgia from 42 countries.

A technical tour will be organized in the Kakheti Region and delegates will see Georgian wineries. The congress guests will also attend other arrangements too.
On June 25 the Rustaveli Theater will host the 8th general assembly of OIV and an official closing ceremony will be also held there.

The International Congress of Vine and Wine (OIV) will be held for the second after 1962.
