Government to Write off Tax Liabilities and Fines of TV Companies

On June 17 Giorgi Khuroshvili, the Georgian government’s parliamentary secretary, submitted a bill of amendments to the tax code to the parliament committees on legal issues and civil integration.

The bill calls for writing off tax liabilities and fines of Georgia-based TV channels.

Khuroshvili notes TV channels owe huge amount of tax debts to the state budget. “Therefore, a bill of amendments will be made to the tax code to write off tax liabilities and fines of TV channels to improve their financial condition”, Khuroshvili said.
