Communications Commission to Halve Interconnection Tariffs

Silknet (the former United Telecom of Georgia ) has submitted bookkeeping papers to the Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC). Thus, GNCC is now able to halve the interconnection tariffs and provide the landline communications market analysis.

GNCC notes the decision was protracted, because Silknet delayed to submit the required documentation and it was impossible to develop a market analysis.

Under a GNCC decision, the current interconnection tariff of 0.148 GEL will decrease to 0.07 GEL , excluding VAT, starting August 1.

GNCC is expected to introduce the lowered tariff for landline communications on the same day.
