Finance Ministry to Issue Treasury Bills worth 155 million GEL in Third Quarter of 2010

The Georgian Finance Ministry and the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) have determined the amount, duration and timetable of issuing Treasury Bills (T-bills) in the third quarter of 2010.

According to the timetable, the Finance Ministry will issue Treasury Bills (T-bills) worth 155 million GEL in the third quarter of 2010.

Kakha Sekhniashvili, head of the T-bill service, said the finance ministry will issue two-year T-bills worth 60 million GEL (731-day, one-year T-bills worth 60 million GEL (364 day)and six-month securities worth 35 million GEL (168-day).

In the second quarter of 2010 the Ministry issued T-bills worth 292 million GEL, while the figure will rise to 447 million GEL in the third quarter of 2010.

The first auction of the third quarter will be held on July 7. The Finance Ministry is expected to put up six-month T-bills worth 5 million GEL.
