Georgia is able to Become Center of Energy Projects, says Prime Minister

Georgia is able to become the center for implementing energy projects, Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri pointed out at his meeting with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of the Georgia-USA strategic partnership charter.

“Georgia exports electricity and is capable for implementing larger-scale projects, including the transportation of the Caspian oil to Europe. The projects Georgia is expected to implement is of crucial importance for Europe. At the same time, these projects will help Georgia strengthen relations with other countries”, Gilauri said.
Gilauri also focused on the importance of the USA support to Georgia in the economy, education and security issues.

“We need an additional support in the economy, education and security issues. We need the implementation of infrastructural projects in the coming years”, Gilauri said.

Gilauri also discussed the Georgia’s striving for the NATO membership.

“Georgia’s aspirations are widely promulgated. We expect the coming NATO summit to show a particular support to Georgia”, the Prime Minister noted.
