Finance Ministry to Involve Private Sector Representatives in Ministry Board of Appeals

The Government of Georgia will include two representatives of the private sector in the Georgian Finance Ministry Board of Appeals.

Giorgi Chirakadze, the President of the Association of Business of Georgia, and Jemal Inaishvili, the President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), will become the board members status on January 1, 2010, Georgian Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili said on December 30.

The Government of Georgia set up a board for customs-tax appeals at the Finance Ministry in 2005 with the aim to regulate relations between the private sector and the Revenues Office.

The Board includes eleven members, including four MPs. The Finance Minister is chairman of the Board.
