The Petroleum Pipeline Corporation of Turkey (BOTAS) will pay USD 399 for 1000 cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas in 1H10, while the country will pay USD 230-280 in 2H10, the APA news agency reports.
As reported, on March 12, 2001 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and BOTAS signed a contract agreement, under which Turkey is authorized to acquire 98.2bln cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas in 2004-2018. The price for 1000 cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas was set at USD 70-120, but the agreement calls for the price growth along with the rise in gas supply volume.
Turkey receives Azerbaijani gas through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline from Shah Deniz well starting 2007.
