Wissol Opens Modern Cycle Track and Rugby Center in Tbilisi

Wissol Petroleum Georgia has opened a modern cycle track and the Rugby Center in Didi Dighomi, Tbilisi. The sports complex is located on 600 square meters and includes training halls, showers and doctor rooms.

Wissol Petroleum Georgia has organized the sports complex as part of the Tbilisi Sports Infrastructure Development Project.

Georgia has already submitted an application for hosting the 2015 Olympic Games. Therefore, we consider the development of sports infrastructure in Georgia of crucial importance, Tbilisi Mayor Giorgi Ugulava noted at the sports complex opening ceremony.

Wissol Petroleum Georgia has invested total of 8m GEL in the sports infrastructure development. The company has also organized several sports complexes, rehabilitated the Avaza football school in compliance with the UEFA standards and the rugby complex on Shuamta Street, Tbilisi.

Corporate social responsibility is one of the priorities of Wissol Petroleum Georgia, Soso Pkhakadze, a company supervisory board chairman, told GBC.

Wissol Petroleum Georgia has already fulfilled its liabilities as part of the Tbilisi Sports Infrastructure Development project, Mamuka Katsarava, the head of the Tbilisi Municipal Office for Social Services, said.

As reported, the Tbilisi Sports Infrastructure Development Project calls for handing over land plots in Tbilisi to several companies for arranging sports complexes there.
