Georgia’s wine exports in January-June 2010 increased by 48 percent compared to the same period of 2009.
The Georgian Agriculture Ministry told GBC, in the reporting period Georgia exported 6 248 976 bottles of wine to 31 countries, while the figure marked 4 208 971 bottles to 38 countries in the same period of 2009.
Ukraine is leader in Georgian wine exports with a 48.7 percent ratio, that is 3 042 956 bottles were exported to Ukraine in the reporting period, up 200 percent year on year.
Kazakhstan ranks second with 1 009 508 bottles, while the figure recorded 746 614 bottlers in January-June 2009.
Belarus ranks third with 537 484 bottles, down 5 153 bottles year on year.
Poland ranks fourth with 355 426 bottles (328 744 bottles in January-June 2009); Latvia ranks fifth with 272 757 bottles (184 094 bottles in January-June 2009); Lithuania ranks sixth with 228 012 bottles (134 268 bottles in January-June 2009); the USA ranks seventh with 150 149 bottles (110 972 bottles in January-June 2009); Azerbaijan ranks eighth with 121 038 bottles (82 584 bottles in January-June 2009); Israel ranks ninth with 83 398 bottles (55 800 bottles in January-June 2009); Germany ranks tenth with 83 012 bottles (77 198 bottles in January-June 2009).
According to the 2009 statistics, Georgia exported 10.968 million bottles to 45 countries, up 10 percent compared to 2008.
