Government to Write off Tax Debts and Fines from Accounts of TV Companies

Tax debts and fines of 36 million GEL Georgian TV companies owe to the state budget will be written off from their accounts as part of the amendments to the new tax code.

Gia Khuroshvili, the government’s parliamentary secretary, told GBC the amnesty will concern all TV companies in Tbilisi and regions.

TV companies will be written off tax debts and fines as of March 1, 2011.

On February 26 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili proposed to announce a tax amnesty to TV companies.
