Stevie Wonder Suspends Concert in Batumi

Negotiations on organizing a concert of Stevie Wonder in Batumi, the Autonomous Republic of Achara, on July 24 has failed.

Kakha Kandelaki, manager of Eastern Promotion Company, told GBC the negotiations failed because, the singer managers had improperly planned the tour timetable. Moreover, the problem arose with direct flight from Batumi to Europe, because Stevie Wonder refused to arrive in Batumi on his own airplane.

Kandelaki assures the concert has been frustrated because of financial problems and the company had already mobilized required amount of cost, including the honorarium for Stevie Wonder. Kandelaki does not divulge the concert costs.

As reported, Stevie Wonder was expected to hold a concert on Era Square in Batumi.

Kandelaki says Eastern Promotion plans to conduct negotiations with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to jointly organize a concert of Stevie Wonder in the Region.
