Georgia and European Union to Sign Agreement on Easing Visa Issuance Procedures in Brussels

On June 17-18 Georgia and the European Union will sign an agreement, under which the procedures for issuing the EU visa to Georgian citizens will be simplified.

The agreement will be signed by Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos and Cecilia Malmstrom, the European Commissioner for interior affairs.

Under the agreement, the application fee will be lowered to 35 EUR from 60 EUR for Georgian citizens and multiuse visas will be issued to certain category of Georgian citizens with the validity period of 5 years.

The agreement will come in force jointly with the agreement on readmission after the European Parliament and the Georgian Parliament have ratified them.
