Kulevi Oil Terminal Handles 393 000 Tons of Oil in May

The Black Sea oil terminal of Kulevi, the Samegrelo Region, handled 393 000 tons of oil in May 2010, including 66 000 tons of Azerbaijani mazut, 167 000 tons of Azerbaijani diesel and 160 000 tons of Kazakh crude oil.

The Kulevi terminal received the first volume of Kazakh crude oil on May 12. The terminal is expected to receive approximately2 million tons of Kazakh oil until 2011.

The oil terminal has handled total of 4 million tons of oil as of April 2010 since the inauguration in 2008.
The Kulevi Terminal is owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). A total of 340 million USD has been invested in the oil terminal construction.
