Ankara to Host Discussions over Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi Railroad Construction

On October 4 a four-day meeting started in Anka, Turkey, to discuss the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railroad.

Trend.az news portal reports referring to the transport ministry of Azerbaijan, the parties swill discuss the issues related with movement of trains, which run in the CIS, Turkish and European networks and define the expected problems and their resolution ways.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railroad project calls for constructing a 105 kilometer section, including 76 kilometers in Turkey, 29 kilometers in Georgia. Moreover, the Akhaltsikhe-Marabda-Tbilisi railway section will be rehabilitated.

Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey concluded the agreement in 2007.
